About Whistler

Whistler is known as one of the most beautiful places on Earth and has been voted #1 ski resort in North America by many magazines for many years.

Whistler is known as the centre of the Freeriding universe. This is the place where many of the trends in skiing, snowboarding and mountain biking originated. It's the place where Mike Douglas (original Director of Momentum Freeride) and the New Canadian Air Force pioneered many of today's popular tricks and first put New School skiing on the map.

Whistler has also been a long time supporter of Freestyle. The 2001World Freestyle Championships were staged here and Blackcomb hosted World Cup Freestyle for over a decade. Whistler along with Vancouver will host the 2010 Olympic Winter Games.

Located about an hour and a half north of Vancouver, BC, Canada, Whistler is nestled in a valley in the heart of the Coast Mountain range. Whistler is a European-style pedestrian village free of cars, surrounded by lakes, forests and stunning mountain views. It's definitely worth taking the time to check out the area and cruise the many shops and cafes around town while you're here.
