We appreciate your patience as we awaited final confirmation regarding our summer operations. It is with great sadness that we must share the difficult news that Whistler Blackcomb has now decided they can not run glacier operations for the foreseeable future due to the ongoing effects of glacial recession on snowpack and lift access.
While we started the season with excellent snowfall and had remained optimistic that summer camps could proceed as usual, after further recent assessment, it has been determined that our summer camps in June and July will not be able to run this year.
Alternative Camps in May
While we are devastated by this news, we are excited to offer two alternative camps in May, taking advantage of spring conditions, Blackcomb’s Park, private mogul lanes and airbag training.
- All Ages Camp → May 4 – 10 (5 days on snow, 2 travel days)
- Adult Only Camp → May 10 – 18 (6 days on snow, 1 rest day, 2 travel days)
These camps will follow our traditional summer camp format, with both Full Package (hotel, meals, activities, transfers) and Coaching-Only options. As always, our all-star coaching crew will be there to guide and inspire your progression.
Epic pass holders will be able to use their passes during this time. We will have access to Blackcomb’s amazing Spring Park and airbag training, as well as both private mogul lanes and all mountain terrain. May offers spring-like conditions with a much larger area to ski and ride, as well as the chance to enjoy some of Whistler’s great summer activities in the valley in the late afternoons.
Check back soon for May Camp Registration – we are just finalizing a few details.
We truly appreciate your support and understanding during this challenging transition, and we hope you and/or your child can join us in May for what will still be an incredible experience.
The Future of Summer Camps in Whistler
Looking beyond this season, we remain committed to pursuing a future for summer ski and snowboard training in Whistler. We have been actively working with Whistler Blackcomb to explore options that could allow for future operations. While this is still in the exploratory phase, we are optimistic about the potential for creating a long-term solution for summer skiing and snowboarding in Whistler. We will keep you updated as discussions progress.
Thank you for being part of our camp community—we hope to see you in May and, in the future, on a revitalized summer training venue!
With our very best wishes, Your Momentum Team
